The Privishing Model

My friend Helena Mathey drew my attention to “Zeitungssterben: Meine (sprichwörtlichen) 5 Cent“, in which Richard Gutjahr argues that people need to remember the “customer is the king” (much more so than the often touted motto that “content is king”). This reminded me of my belief that the term “customer” is actually quite outdated.

It also false that today everyone is a publisher. On the contrary, the vast majority are privishers. “What is a privisher?”, you ask? A privisher is someone who shares private information with a private company, allowing the private company to sell these secrets to the highest bidder:

Only very few people publish information — most people privish it to Google. ;)
